Overview:Shanghai--Hongcun--Yellow Mountain--Shanghai

If you only climb one mountain in China, it should be Huangshan. Located in southern Anhui province and honored as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1990, (Yosemite was added in 1984), Huangshan’s scenic beauty and 72 peaks are unlike any other mountains in Asia. The summit has no religious significance; it is instead known for its sea of clouds, dramatic rocky peaks, and unusual gnarled pine trees that grow throughout the area – sites that have mesmerized and inspired painters and poets for over 1,500 years.
